Last weeks Christmas jumper day raised £50 for Save the Children. Well done everyone.
The nursery children really enjoyed their Christmas lunch last week. They even made their own Christmas crowns and had real fun pulling the crackers! Thank you Mrs Clark for such a yummy lunch.
The whole school enjoyed a trip to Ashprington Church. Owls and Falcons talked about how Christians celebrate Christmas, sang Christmas songs and coloured in images of Christingles which were used to decorate the Christmas tree. Falcons had an amazing day at the KS1 Gymnastics festival in Torquay. Last Thursday, Eagles took part in a day of WW2 workshops in Diptford which included code-breaking, handling artefacts, guessing who the spy was, rationing, morse code and learning more about the Home Front.
Falcons have been studying habitats, so as an investigation they made nests out of hay, used a plastic bottle as a mouse and put a thermometer inside it. Little Owls have been enjoying the wet weather this week. They have been out making mud pies and mud soup. The children are scooping and mixing their creations .
On Tuesday evening the ladies from art club and some of the children went along to Harberton church to dress our Christmas trees with our hand-made decorations. We have called ours 'Crafty Christmas' and 'Harb yourself a merry little Christmas'. They look fabulous, why not go along and take a look this weekend. [...]
This week, some of our pupils took part in a fire safety session with a local fire officer. They learnt about electrical safety and the roles and responsibilities of the fire service. All children were encouraged to ask adults to check fire alarms at home.
